Our Story
The Wired Community
Connecting the Wonderfully Wired, where souls and Stories meet.
The Wired Community began with a simple question:
How can we create places where wonderfully wired people do not just feel welcomed, but truly feel that they belong?
We noticed that many neurodivergent and disabled people were slipping away from traditional church life. Some found the language difficult, the environment overwhelming or the expectations unclear. Others felt that they were being cared for but were not always being listened to, included or given opportunities to lead.
The Wired Community grew from a desire to do things differently.
We believe that neurodiversity is part of God’s wonderful creativity. Autistic, ADHD, dyslexic, dyspraxic and other differently wired people bring valuable gifts, insights and experiences to the Church and the wider community.
This is not simply a ministry for people. It is a community shaped and developed with people at its heart.
Led by Phil, The Wired Community is a Christian initiative working in partnership with the Church and connected with the wider mission and values it work in.
Our approach is based on relationships rather than pressure. Everyone is welcomed as they are. People can make friends, share their stories, ask questions and explore faith at their own pace.
What We Aim to Do
We aim to create accessible spaces where people can:
Feel safe, welcomed and valued.
Build genuine friendships.
Share their stories and be listened to.
Explore the Christian faith without pressure.
Discover and develop their gifts.
Take part as contributors, volunteers and leaders.
Find practical support and connections within the community.
